Japan to help China fight global warming.

China has displaced Japan as Asia's largest manufacturing country. But it is grappling with severe environmental problems, as its air, water, land and human health have suffered from poor enforcement of environmental rules, reliance on dirty coal and low energy efficiency. This year, according to outside estimates China also became the largest producer of global warming gases, surpassing the United States. Japan, in contrast, uses less energy per dollar of economic output than any other developed country. It has cut its carbon emissions sharply, how did they do it?, partly by outsourcing manufacturing to China and other Asian countries. That is what the United States is doing to cut our carbon emissions, out sourcing manufacturing to China and Mexico. China is the major emitting country of greenhouse gases. So without Chinese engagement in programs of reducing the emission of greenhouse gases, ANY international effort will inevitably be without effect. By Joseph Kahn, The New York Times.

So why should we pay with our tax dollars to clean the air if their will be no effect because China will put it back in the air? Let us save our money and do what Japan has done and that is out-source manufacturing to China? Wait we are doing that now. If we keep on this same track we will reduce our emissions of greenhouse gases without having to pay for it or change our life styles. I think Al Gore just wants our money. What do you think?

Pakistan Accuses al-Qaeda of killing Bhutto.

Pakistan accused al Qaeda of killing opposition leader Benazir Bhutto, whose assassination has plunged the nuclear-armed country into crisis and triggered bloody protests. But Bhutto's party dismissed the official explanation and said President Pervez Musharraf's embattled administration was trying to cover up it's failure to protect her. My question is how do you protect yourself from a suicide attacker? For the past several months Pakistan has been plaqued by a wave of violence that has seen hundreds of civilians killed in similar bombing attacks and hundreds more in military personnel. Bhutto escaped unhurt from a suicide attack in October that killed about 140 people. Al Qaeda is known to run training camps, prepare and dispatch suicide bombers. How do you train a suicide attacker? Show him which button to push? No, to train him how to blend into the crowed and get to the place to do the most damaged. And Al Qaeda is training thousands to.........be prepared in case they are needed ? No,to be use as a weapon to destroy the people that get in their way. So my question, how do you protect yourself from a suicide attacker? One thing, it is not gun control, that our Democrats believe in.

The mystery of the Christmas Star, Divine Theory

It's long been a puzzle for Christian astronomers, and now a professor from the University of Notre Dame thinks he has it figured out. His quest: discovering just what "the star in the East" was that led wise men to travel to Bethlehem 2000 years ago. Not a lot was written about the star in the Bible. In the Gospel of Mathew it says: "Where is he who has been born king of the Jews? For we have seen his star in the East, and have come to worship him." German astronomer Johannes Kepler proposed in 1604 that the star was a conjunction of Mars, Jupiter and Saturn in 7 B.C. The advantage professor Grant Mathews has over Kepler and other who have pondered the question is that he had access to NASA's databases. Professor Mathews believe that April 17, 6 B.C., when the sun, Jupiter, the moon and Saturn aligned in the constellation Aries while Venus and Mars were in neighboring constellations. It make sense because he believes the wise men were Zoroastrian astrologers who would recognized the planetary alignment in Aries as a sign a powerful leader was born. "In fact it would have even meant that the leader was destined to die at an appointed time, which of course would have been significant for the Christ child and may have been why they brought myrrh, which was an embalming fluid. Saturn there, would have made whoever was born as a leader a most powerful leader because Saturn had the strength to do it, in their view." By Tom Coyne, Associated Press writer. At Christmas time a lot of people tell me that they don't feel the spirit of Christmas. We put up the tree, put on lights and ornaments, then search for presents to put under the tree. We sing about Santa , Rudolph and about a white Christmas. We watch Christmas shows and go to Christmas parties but there is still something missing. The reason for the Season. The birth of Christ, the giving of one self so that others will be better off. Let's make 2008 a better year for someone in your life by giving them something that will last a life time. The Spirit of Christ.

Corn demand takes toll on Gulf

Because of rising demand for ethanol, American farmers are growing more corn than at any time since World War II. And sea life in the Gulf of Mexico is paying the price. The nation's corn crop is fertilized with millions of pounds of nitrogen-based fertilizers. When that nitrogen runs off fields in agricultural states, it makes its way to the Mississippi River and eventually pours into the Gulf, where it contributes to a growing "dead zone" - a 7,900- square -mile patch, the size of the State of New Jersey, so depleted of oxygen that fish, crabs and shrimp suffocate. With the demand for corn booming, some researchers fear the dead zone will expand rapidly with devastating consequences. "We might be close to a tipping point," said Matt Rota, "The ecosystem might change or collapse as opposed to being just impacted." By Henry C. Jackson, Associated Press writer. Here we go, the senate just passed a new energy law to save the earth by boosting the production of ethanol but the by product is going to kill the Gulf. The fertilizers that help the corn grow is the chief factor causing the dead zone. And now we are going to plant more corn and cause more death in the Gulf of Mexico. The most notorious dead zone on earth. You can research this by googling Gulf of Mexico Dead Zone. I believe where ever their is a positive their is a negative. A coin has a heads so it must have a tails. We look at the positives of corn, ethanol, and only the negatives of oil. We need to think with our heads and not our hearts. The State of Florida don't want us to drill off their coast, they want to save the beauty of their coast. Maybe this new fuel will just kill their coast. Remember the dead zone off the coast of the State of Louisiana is the size of the State of New Jersey. Let's just drill for oil and the trees will take of the environment.

Senate Republicans block tax hike for many in middle class

The Senate voted to block a looming tax increase averaging $2000 for millions of taxpayers after Senate Republicans succeeded in thwarting a Democratic plan to also raise taxes on investors. The Senate vote puts it at odds with the House, where Democratic leaders, under a principle of not adding to the national debt, demanded that the AMT fix be paid for, with a tax. Last month , the House passed legislation matching the AMT fix and other tax cuts with about $80 billion in new tax revenue. Reported by Jim Abrams, Associated Press writer.

First the tax was blocked so the money never came into the Treasury, it was never collected. So the Democratic Senate want to raise taxes on investors so they can pay for this tax cut. If you work for a company and have company stock, your an investor. They want you to pay for this tax cut. Now the House Democrats want to fix this problem with about $80 billion in new tax revenue. So they want all of us to pay for this tax cut. " They find it offensive to have to pay for these tax cuts," Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid , D-Nev., said of Republicans. "Shouldn't it be paid for? The answer is obviously 'yes' " This is the Democrats PayGo. How about a Republican SpendNo? If a person doesn't get a raise and makes the same amount of money as last year, he doesn't spend more. Wait!!! Maybe he can go to his boss and say he got a pay cut since he'll make the same amount as last year. No he will make less with the new taxes the Democrats want to pass. Someone has to pay for their spending. So they will PayGo you right in your back packet. Let's tell the Democrats where they can stick their PayGo. Watch your spending and leave our money alone.

Democrats say, Bush likely to pay.

President Bush is scoring victory after victory over his Democratic adversaries. He has beaten back domestic spending increases, thwarted an expansion of children's health insurance coverage, defeated tax increases, won funding for the war in Iraq and pushed Democrats toward shattering their pledge not to add the federal deficit with new tax cuts or rises in mandatory spending. You see President Bush is keeping the Democrats out of your back pocket or pocket book. Bush's steadfast stand against Democratic spending, coupled with his equally resolute opposition to tax increases, could raise the federal debt this fiscal year by nearly $240 billion. Now that is a lie to scare you and let them take your money. According to the USA TODAY, October 11, 2007 , Annual federal deficit drops to $162.8 billion. The annual federal deficit has fallen to its lowest point in five years, the Bush administration reported today. President Bush noted today that this year's deficit of $162.8 billion was $81 billion lower than February estimates. It's more than 34% lower than the $248.2 billion deficit for the 2006 fiscal year. Tell the Democrats to lower the federal deficit by lowering spending. To keep their hands out of your back pocket or pocket book.

Hate crimes increase, FBI says

The Rev. Al Sharpton said "The FBI report confirms what we have been saying for many months about the severe increase in hate crimes. Sharpton called for Attorney General Michael Mukasey to meet with Members of the Congressional Black Caucus and civil rights leaders to discuss hate crime enforcement. My question is how severe of an increase and how severe is the crime. The news article said racial bias, accounting for 51.8 percent in 2006, down from 54.7 percent in 2005. Hate crime incidents in 2006 were 5,020 victims. 66.4 anti-black bias and 21.0 anti-white bias. Of the 5,020 victims of hate crimes against persons in 2006, 46.0 percent experienced intimidation, 31.9 percent were victims of simple assault, 21.6 percent were victims of aggravated assault. http:www.fbi.gov/ucr/hc2006/victims.html I personally don't see a severe problem. What I do see is the Rev. Al Sharpton acting like the Klan leaders of the past, inciting racial hatred among their followers. Even though racial injustice was done against blacks, Martin Luther King. Jr. never incited hatred against whites. He had a dream that one day, the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave owners will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood. That little black boys and girls will be able to join hands with little white boys and girls as sisters and brothers. Rev. Al Sharpton stop wagging the dog.

China says United States should cure global warming.

China insisted that the United States and other wealthy nations should bear, pay for with our money, the burden of curbing global warming, saying the problem was created by our lavish way of life, which they are producing goods for. China rejected mandatory emission cuts for its own developing industries, which are polluting the air. Environmental activists, those who believe, labeled the United States and Saudi Arabia the worst "climate sinners", is this a religion?, accusing them, us, of having inadequate polices for climate problems while letting greenhouse gas emissions rise, as our lifestyles rise. But the activists, those who believe, also said no country is doing enough, to lowering their lifestyles. Many experts believe China has surpassed the United States as the world's top emitter of carbon dioxide and other heat-trapping gases. Su Wei, a top climate expert for China's government said, "I think there is much room for the United States to think whether it's possible to change, our, lifestyle and consumption patterns, while they do nothing, in order to contribute to the protection of the global climate. The Kyoto pact, rejected by the United States because it didn't require any cuts by fast-developing countries such as China, India and Brazil, who are becoming the world's top emitters of carbon dioxide. China still relies heavily on dirty, outdated coal-burning techniques and is home to 20 of the world's 30 most polluted cities. Leave our lifestyle alone.

High gas prices compelling Democrats to act.

Democratic leaders were optimistic they could get a bill to provide for a 40 percent increase in fuel efficiency for new cars and light trucks by 2020 for a fleet-wide average of 35 miles per gallon. Sounds good and great right? But what will our cars look like in 2020? Under a 1975 law passed after the Arab oil embargo, each auto maker's fleet of cars must average 27.5 miles per gallon and light trucks and minivans 22.2 miles per gallon. In 1975 cars were large and made of steel. In 2007 cars are smaller and make of plastic and steel. In 2020 cars will even be smaller and made of mostly plastic. In 1975 most cars were 8 cylinders, muscle cars. In 2007 most cars are 6 or 4 cylinders. In 2020 most cars will be 2 or 3 cylinders, a go cart. Don't laugh I have seen a 3 cylinder car already and it did look like a go cart. According to the Union of Concerned Scientists, once fully implemented, will save about 1.1 million barrels of oil per day in 2020. The United States consumes about 20 million barrels of oil a day. That is only 5% savings! At $3 a gallon and fill your tank at $40 you save $2. At a tank a week in one year you'll save $100 and you will be driving a go cart. Drive 5% extra that year and your back at 2007 but driving an unsafe car. Your seat belt will hold you in while the 18 wheeler kills you. Even at $3 a gallon people are driving more today than at $1.50 per gallon. In 2020 there will be more people in go carts driving more and burning more gas. Are we going to trade the safety of people to save 5% oil consumption? PLEASE just leave our cars alone.

Demos Seeking Compromise......Ya right.....

Democratic leaders working on a energy bill, not working with Republicans (wrong kind of compromise),were trying to forge compromises to increase the use of renewable fuels both in cars and by electric utilities by 40 percent. But the Democrats also face another thorny issue: How to cover up, raise taxes, to $3 billion a year in lost revenue, taxes, if motorists buy less gas because of more efficient cars and SUV's, meaning less revenue, taxes, for highway upkeep and construction. Congressional rules, made by congressmen, require any revenue, taxes, losses from new legislation to be off set with new revenue, taxes, so Democrats will have to craft a tax package to deal with the shortfall. This proves that the Democrats don't believe in tax cuts, so the thorny issue for them is how to get in your back pocket with out you knowing it. They can raise the tax on gas but the price per gallon will go up and you would not like that. We can financially rape the smoker again but that will not get them $3 billion a year. Wait, raise taxes on liquor, drunk drivers cost us lots of money annually, punish the many for the few. How about just leave our cars alone? Last time I looked this was a free country. Why does the government have to tell me what to drive? Or change your congressional rules and give us tax relief. Stop wagging the dog.

Gains cause Democrats to shift on Iraq.

Advisers to Sens. Hillary Rodham Clinton, D-N.Y., and Barack Obama, D-Ill., two sets of different advisers, say that the candidates have watched security conditions, the war, improve after the troop escalation in Iraq and concluded that, you would look stupid, not to acknowledge those gains, because we are winning. Now wait a while I thought the leaders of the Democrat Party said that we lost and can not win. You know it's Bush's war. But at the same time, they are arguing that American casualties are too high. Was WWI or WWII casualties too high? What would be just right. What death rate is acceptable for Democrats? That a quick withdrawal is the only way to end, and lose, the war and that the so-called surge in additional troops has not paid off in political progress in Iraq. What kind of political progress did we have in our last five years? I guess the Democrats give the Republican majority every thing they asked for in these last five years? NO. So when the three political parties in Iraq don't get alone there is no political progress in Iraq. I guess the Democrats expect them to act different than them. Do what every you can to run the country and destroy you adversary. Who is calling the pot black?

Trees felled by KATRINA weighed as factor in global warming.

I read this in the Times-Picayune today. A group of researchers, led by Tulane University biologist, has found that the monster storm may well have accelerated global warming. When Katrina roared through coastal forests, most of southeast Louisiana is swamp few trees, it destroyed thousands of trees. As trees decompose the carbon they release will be enough to offset a year's worth of new tree growth in other parts of the United States, said Jeffrey Chambers, an assistant professor of ecology and evolutionary biology. Forest are important adversaries of global warming unless trees are rotting in the forest. This is what I got out of the article. Let's see, trees are dying everyday in old forest and are causing globing warming so we should send in logging company's to remove them before they die. If thousands of rotting trees are effecting a year's worth of new tree growth I wonder what happened on May 18th 1980 when Mount St. Helens changed more than 200 square miles of rich forest into a gray lifeless landscape. This is a lot of rotting trees causing global warming. It also sent a massive ash cloud 80,000 feet in 15 minutes and reached the east coast in 3 days and circled the earth in 15 days and stayed in the atmosphere for many years. In fact there has been 7 eruptions in the past 200 years in that northeast area. Think of all the trees that will rot because of the California fires. Maybe man is not the major cause of global warming.
