Dalai Lama Shows Support for Games - New York Times
The Dalai Lama said Thursday that he supported Beijing's hosting of the Summer Olympics, but he insisted that pro-Tibet demonstrators had the right to voice their opinions during the international torch relay as long as they refrained from violence. During a brief stopover in Japan on his way to the United States, the Dalai Lama, the exiled Tibetan spiritual leader, told reporters no one should try to silence demonstrators who are protesting Chinese rule in Tibet. But he struck a conciliatory tone toward Beijing , apparently distancing himself from calls in the West for a boycott of the Olympic opening ceremony. "We are not anti-Chinese," he said at a news conference at Tokyo's main international airport in Narita. "Right from the beginning, we supported the Olympic Games." Speaking of pro-Tibetan protesters, he said nobody "has the right to tell them to shut up."
The Dalai Lama apparently distancing himself from the, Democrats, calls in the West for a boycott of the Olympic opening ceremony as Nancy Pelosi urges Bush not to attend the Olympics opening ceremony. Do you think Nancy Pelosi was being used when she visited the Dalai Lama in India? -In front of a horde of television news cameras- Mrs. Pelosi and her husband, Paul, descended the stairs of the main temple here to enormous applause, the 72-year-old Buddhist monk sandwiched between them, holding both their hands.- Ms. Pelosi, accompanied by nine members of Congress, most of them Democrats, was being used by the Dalai Lama to further his cause.
Now U.S. Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton urged President George W. Bush to boycott the Beijing opening ceremonies. Her and President Bill Clinton were not boycotting the cash that the Chinese were pouring into Bill's re-election campaign.
The Chinese and the Clintons were good friends but now they must improve their human rights. They didn't worried about human rights, when they were taking their money.
Barack Obama has joined Democratic presidential rival Hillary Rodhan Clinton in calling for President Bush to boycott the opening ceremonies for the Olympic Games in Beijing. Obama said "If the Chinese do not take steps to help stop the genocide in Darfur.." What has the United Nations or the other Western countries done to help stop this genocide, very little. Obama also said that we must "engage the Dalai Lama in meaningful talks about the future of Tibet." Do you think that Obama knows that the Dalai Lama has not been in Tibet in almost 50 years. And that you can talk to him until your blue in the face and nothing will change. But I guess he'll feel good talking about change.
Do you think that the Dalai Lama knew that the eyes of the world was going to be focused on China during these summer Olympics? That this would be a great time to further his cause by getting the Tibet monks to riot in the streets of Tibet and make China to look like the evil empire? And that now he is on his world wide tour to promote his agenda? Personally I think this is a good move on his part but a bad move by the Democrats.

I don't want Bush to attend the opening ceremony either.
