McCain Gaining ground in Michigan over Obama, 11 Percent Undecided.

A new CNN poll of polls in Michigan, compiled Saturday, suggests Senator Barack Obama has a five point lead over Senator John McCain, 47 percent to 42 percent, with 11 percent of voters undecided.
Seventeen electoral votes are up for grabs in Michigan.
It seems the current financial crisis from Wall Street to Main Street will be a major factor in Michigan.

In the last four presidential election Michigan voted for a Democratic candidate. The last time President Bush lost the state to John Kerry by just three points. Now a month and a half before the election Baack Obama is up by five points. But you must look at in this poll is the undecideds which is at 11 percent. This is a high percentage being so close to the election.

First polls are fun to watch but it doesn't give you a clear picture of what is happening. For example let's look at the UPDATE: The release of new ARG numbers this afternoon has tightened up the Michigan average by one point. Obama now leads McCain in the Michigan poll of polls by 4 points (47 to 43 percent). This morning's
Michigan poll of polls showed Obama leading McCain by 5 points (47 to 42 percent). In lest than six hours the polls change by one percent in McCain's favor. Obama percentage stayed at 47 percent but McCain went up to 43 percent.

On August 22, 2008 a new poll out today from the Detroit Free Press shows Obama ahead over McCain in Michigan, 46-39 with 12 percent of voters undecided. Now in one month, Barack Obama went from 46 to 47 percent. John McCain in one month, went from 39 to 43 percent. So if you want to play with the numbers, McCain is doing better in Michigan than Obama with 11 percent still undecided.

With just six weeks until Election day let's look at the battle ground states. Florida, John McCain 47 to 46, seven percent undecided. Barack Obama has spent $8 million on ads and John McCain just started last weeks with ads. Ohio, John McCain 47 to 46, seven percent undecided. Ohio voters say McCain is more qualified to be president and would likely use good judgment. Missouri, John McCain 49 to 45, six percent undecided. McCain is supported by 92% of Missouri Republicans and enjoys a 16-percentage-point lead among unaffiliated voters.

As you can see we can all play with the poll numbers. Right the cards are in John McCain favor in the swing states.

GOP Sees Rebound in Battle for Congress - washingtonpost.com

After months of fundraising doldrums, recruitment misfires and daunting polls, Republicans believe they are finally on the rebound in the battle for Congress. Both sides concede that the GOP stands almost no chance of taking back the House or Senate in November, but party leaders think the Palin factor and an increasingly competitive fight for the White House have generated enthusiasm and momentum that could limit GOP losses to only a few Senate seats and perhaps fewer than a dozen House seats.

In August, a USA Today-Gallup poll gave Democrats a 51 to 42 percent lead in congressional elections. After the GOP convention in St. Paul, Minn., Republicans had climbed to a 50 to 45 percent advantage. Democrats have never envisioned an easy path to a filibuster-proof 60-vote majority. Oh yes they did. Democrats know this is a huge prize and they are doing what ever they can to obtain this prize. This would give the Democrat congress a filibuster proof Senate.

What kind of power would this give Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi? It was a filibuster-proof Democratic majority that allowed FDR to pass his New Deal. It was a filibuster-proof Democratic Senate that allowed Lyndon Johnson to pass his Great Society. What would a filibuster proof Democratic Senate allow President Barack Obama to do with no one to stop the liberal Democrats?

What they are calling the change is the Palin factor. I have to admit that when John McCain picked Sarah Palin as his Vice President candidate, it woke up a sleeping Republican Giant. But we must give John McCain credit with keeping it going. As early as July 28 the Gallop Organization polls showed McCain up by 4 points reducing Obama's lead to 3.2 percent. So before the Republican national convention John McCain was gaining ground on Barack Obama.

McCain, the 72-year-old Washington veteran, and Palin, the 44-year-old first-term governor from Alaska, as they toured the Midwest this week, they are forging a new way of campaigning.This has generated enthusiasm and momentum that could limit GOP losses in congress. I agree the Republicans will not win back the majority but now the Democrats have a fight on their hands.

No one saw the Republican revolution that was coming in 1994 but they will see the Republican surge that will hit on November 4th.

John McCain Sharper Tone than Barack Obama on Russia.

Aides to Republican Sen. John McCain were scrambling last Thursday morning even as his plane was descending into Des Moines. Russia had escalated its aggression in the bordering Republic of Georgia, they told reporters, and McCain wanted to seize the moment.

On the ground in Iowa, advance men raced to erect a podium on the
tarmac, just feet from McCain's plane. The Republican nominee strode to the microphone for the first of several blistering statements condemning Russia's moves, delivering his comments well before President Bush spoke publicly about the incident.

Senator John McCain came running out of the gates, to show the American public that he is ready to answer that 3am phone call and react to the situation. Barack Obama adviser Susan Rice said "We were dealing with the facts as we knew them. John McCain shot from the hip, very aggressive, belligerent statement. He may or may not have complicated the situation."

So when the 3am phone call came Obama said, "let's wait until we get all the information before we respond." The Washington Post said, Obama has confronted the crisis in Georgia in more modulated tones, initially sounding closer to Bush than McCain. This is not true, the initial response of Bush was closer to McCain, not Obama.

Here is Obama's initial response, Monday, August 11th, four days after the 3am phone call. After President George Bush and Senator John McCain already responded.

"Russia must stop its bombing campaign and flights in
Georgian airspace,which started four days earlier, and withdraw ground forces from Georgia. "The Georgian government has proposed a cease-fire and the Russian government should, how about must, accept it. There is also an urgent need for humanitarian assistance,I think we have to stop this first, to reach the people of Georgia, and casualties on both sides." He urged the United Nations to send a mediator to join a French and Finnish delegation in Georgia

"We should, how about must, also convene other international forums to condemn this aggression,by who?, to call for an immediate halt to the violence, and to review multilateral and bilateral arrangements with Russia -- including Russia's interest in joining the World Trade Organization," Obama said.


You know with this comment, Senator Obama almost sounds like a communist sympathizer. You know in his speech to the world Obama said; The size of our forces was no match for the much larger Soviet Army. And yet retreat would have allowed Communism to march across Europe. Where the last war had ended, another World War could have easily begun. All that stood in the way was Berlin. This is not the truth according to President Ronald Reagan.


Barack Obama will get that 3am phone call and wait four days until he gets all the facts then react. Maybe too late!

McCain Polls Show Gain on Obama Lead Among Likely Voters.

Republican presidential candidate John McCain moved from being behind by 6 points among "likely" voters a month ago to a 4-point lead over Democrat Barack Obama among that group in the latest USA TODAY/Gallup Poll. McCain still trails slightly among the broader universe of "registered" voters. By both measures, the race is tight.

The Friday-Sunday poll, mostly conducted as Obama was returning from his much-publicized overseas trip and released just this hour, shows McCain now ahead 49%-45% among voters that Gallup believes are most likely to go to the polls in November. In late June, he was behind among likely voters, 50%-44%.

I saw this poll Monday and just waited to see how many of the main News Media would carry it. I mean every poll that Barack Obama is leading in, all the News Media report it. But not for poor John McCain. I need some of you to help me. Maybe I missed it or just can't find it, but this is not reported by the New York Times, Washington Post or the Los Angeles Times. Do you think that they are bias?

Now the Politico reported about McCain's jump in the polls among most likely to vote, but the title of the post read,

The campaign is all about Obama

Despite vulnerabilities that have kept the race closer in polls than most analysts expected — and McCain even jumped to a 4 percentage point lead among likely voters in a USA Today/Gallup Poll released Monday — Barack Obama dominates the race by virtually any other measure. He is dictating the agenda and soaking up news coverage as McCain and his team scramble to react.

Barack Obama dominates the race. Why, because the News Media is kissing his ass. Most analysts expected, with the News Media in his corner, to be up over 50 percent and now that John McCain is 4 percent ahead of Obama in likely voters, they don't want the public to know it.They will use the power of the media to help Obama win and McCain lose.

I have faith in the people of this great country. They will see through all the smoke and mirrors that the press is throwing at them. The new media, the internet and conservative radio, is growing. The old media, National newspapers and national television news is dying.

Have faith in the people of this country, just tell them the truth and let them make their own decision.
