My Way News - Voting for president begins in pivotal Ohio
In the state that may again determine the presidency, voters started
casting ballots Tuesday as Barack Obama struggles to thwart a John
McCain victory in Ohio four years after it tipped the election to
President Bush.
On Monday, the state Supreme Court and two federal judges upheld the
ruling by Democratic Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner that allows
new voters to register and cast an absentee ballot on the same day from
Tuesday through Oct. 6. Republicans argued that Ohio law requires
voters to be registered for 30 days before they cast an absentee ballot.
The Ohio GOP asked the 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Cincinnati on
Tuesday either to stop same-day voting or require elections official to
separate those ballots so the registrations can be verified. But Brunner already has instructed election officials to segregate those ballots and verify the registrations before counting them. A three-judge panel of the federal appeals court denied the request later in the day.
The Right to Vote.
The Ohio Supreme Court and a federal judge on Monday upheld a week long period in which new voters can register and cast an absentee ballot on the same day in Ohio. Than why can't someone register and vote on November 4th in Ohio, on election day? Why is there a law in Ohio that a person must register 35 days before an election in order to vote in that election?
Democrat Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner was following the law when she ruled there is a six-day window in which voters can register and vote at the same time. She might have been following the letter of the law but she was not following the spirit of the law when a person must wait 35 days in order to vote.
I think the Republicans should take advantage of this. First we must contact Rush Limbaugh and wake up the Operation Chaos people in Ohio. They should take their family members and neighbors go register and vote early for McCain/Palin. Second Rush should call for all the Hillary voters to vote now for McCain/Palin so Hillary can run against them in 2012. Next we need to get all the youth ministers involved in this election. First tell them what Barack Obama believe about abortion and how he voted. Register the youth and let them vote. Guess who they will vote for? Last, get all the members of the VFW and DAV lodges. Have them vote early and start a grass root movement in bringing people to the polls.
Republican leaders in Ohio should use this oppertunity to get out the vote. Conservative talk show host in Ohio show help to get out the conservative vote. If we all work together we can use this Democrat fast one for the benifit of the McCain/Palin ticket.
