Political Punch
"You know, you can put lipstick on a pig," Obama said, "but it's still a pig."
The crowd rose and applauded, some of them no doubt thinking he may have been alluding to Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's ad lib during her vice presidential nomination acceptance speech last week, "What's the difference between a hockey mom and a pit bull? Lipstick."
lipstick on a pig.
Barack Obama's key paraphrase: "We're going to have a campaign free of the usual manipulations and distortions, we're going to run a campaign we can be proud of."
How low do you have to stoop, to call Sarah Palin a pig. At the Republican National convention Palin called herself a pit bull with lipstick. Now Obama is calling her a pig with lipstick and said even though that pig has lipstick on, it's still a pig.
UPDATE: Obama senior adviser Robert Gibbs insists the senator was not referring to Palin. "That's an old expression," Gibbs says. NO! The old saying goes something like this, "That you can take a pig out of the pig pen. clean her up, but she is still a pig." When Barack Obama put the added lipstick on the pig, he was referring to Sarah Palin.
"What's the difference between a hockey mom and a pit bull? Lipstick." Looks like Obama was not only calling Sarah Palin a pig but he was calling all of the hockey moms in this great country pigs.
Virginia Senator George Allen introduced us to "Macaca". Most of the American public didn't even know what this word meant, until the news media took it and ran with it. Even though he apologized, the news media ran it into the dirt. Because Allen called someone a name, he lost the election.
What do you think the news media is going to do with this? I can tell you, nothing. You see the news media is in bed with Barack Obama. They will protect Obama so he will not lose this election.
This is what Democrats believe about pigs.
“You can put wings on a pig, but you don't make it an eagle.”
Bill Clinton quotes
This is what Republicans believe about pigs.
“I am very proud to be called a pig. It stands for pride, integrity and guts.”
Ronald Reagan quotes
Maybe Barack Obama is right. Sarah Palin stands for pride, integrity and guts.

From a Chicago Tribune story of last October:
ReplyDelete“McCain criticized Democratic contenders for offering what he called costly universal health care proposals that require too much government regulation. While he said he had not studied Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton’s health-care plan, he said it was ‘eerily reminiscent’ of the failed plan she offered as first lady in the early 1990s.
“‘I think they put some lipstick on a pig, but it’s still a pig,’ he said of her proposal.”
It is appalling to me, absolutely appalling that there are social conservatives that have decided that it would be in, not only their best interest, but the entire nations best interest to elect someone as vice president who is not only an intellectual deficient, but rejects the merits of science over superstition, who would attempt to force her stunted view of morality on the nation, who is a blatant liar, who is a Rovian clone and who supports the worst president in American history.
ReplyDeleteWhat could she possibly do when she has to come eyeball to eyeball with the likes of Vladimir Putin, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, or Hu Jintao? She would wither like an ant under a magnifying glass.
Obama never called Palin a pig. He used the same phrase that McCain, Bush, Rove and Cheney have all used in the last year. Please don't continue this blatantly hypocritical distraction from the real issues of our day. If you wish to point out something then point out the lies about the bridge and the absurd story about the jet on ebay.
Boy, WAGTHEDOG, are you DUMB!
ReplyDeleteYou are a dumb ass. It's clear to any unbiased person that Obama wasn't referring to Palin.
ReplyDeleteNo osama bin biden meant Alaska Governor Sarah Palin explicitly. And he showed his true colors when he made the gaffe "Muslim Faith". I can't imagine EVER coming out with that term when we have been attacked by the so called muslim faith numerous times.
ReplyDeleteWake up America, Obama is not what we need.
Every single line and word that is uttered during the election process is thoroughly thought out before hand to decide what kind of impact it will have. He knew exactly what he was saying, and who it was directed at. What he didn't expect was the backlash it would receive. Now he's left paddling backwards.
ReplyDeleteWhen are people going to realize, by criticizing Palin and her inexperience to lead IF she happens to take over the Presidency, all you are doing is highlighting the fact that the Dems #1 slot pick doesn't even have the same experience as her, and can't lead us from the very beginning!!! Obama is a racist, socialist, flash-in-the-pan with no sense of patriotism.
