Just like President Bush, Obama wants to send unarmed National Guard Volunteers to Mexican Border.

Obama Mulls Sending National Guard to Border | NBC Bay Area

With drug-related violence growing along the Mexican border, the U.S. is considering  deploying troops to the Southwest, according to a Department of Homeland Security official.
Senior officials say the Obama administration is developing plans to seek up to 1,500 National Guard volunteers to help combat the drug war along the Mexican border.
“You can’t fight this war with just one hand,” President Barack Obama has said. “You can’t have Mexico making an effort and the United States not making an effort.”

I think we should send the boy scouts for this job.

Gov. Janet Napolitano on Thursday signed an agreement for Arizona to participate in a federal plan to deploy 6,000 National Guard soldiers in the four southern border states to help curb illegal immigration,
with 300 Arizona National Guard soldiers set to participate beginning in mid-June. The National Guard troops will be used for engineering, road and fence building, transportation, logistics and surveillance, reconnaissance and port-of-entry duties but not direct law enforcement.

Why did President Bush do this? Bush promised funding in his plan to send up to 6,000 National Guard
troops to Arizona and the three other states along the U.S.-Mexico border to perform support duties that would free up federal authorities to focus on border security until more Border Patrol agents are hired and trained.

Now why does President Obama want to send the National Guard to the Mexican boarder?

President Barack Obama has said. “You can’t fight this war with just one hand, You can’t have Mexico making an effort and the United States not making an effort.”

Senior administration officials said the Guard program will last no longer than a year, a one year effort,
would draw on National Guard volunteers from the four border states. The program would mainly seek out guard members for surveillance, intelligence analysis and aviation support. Guard units would also supply ground troops who could assist at border crossings and with land and air transportation.

Now here is the real reason President Obama is doing this.
President Barack Obama promised his Mexican counterpart, Felipe Calderon, that the United States would help with the escalating drug war. So now President Obama is throwing Mexican president Calderon a bone.

President Obama ten days late Condemning Iran Violence

Obama condemns violence against Iran protesters - Yahoo! News

Dramatically hardening the U.S. reaction to Iran's disputed elections and bloody aftermath, President Barack Obama condemned the violence against protesters Tuesday and lent his strongest support yet to their accusations the hardline victory was a fraud.
Obama, who has been accused by some Republicans of being too timid in his response to events in Iran, declared himself "appalled and outraged" by the deaths and intimidation in Tehran's streets — and scoffed at suggestions he was toughening his rhetoric in response to the criticism.
He suggested Iran's leaders will face consequences if they continue "the threats, the beatings and imprisonments" against protesters. But he repeatedly declined to say what actions the U.S. might take, retaining — for now — the option of pursuing diplomatic engagement with Iran's leaders over its suspected nuclear weapons program.

Protesters in Iran

FOX News' Major Garrett asks President Obama what took him so long to say he has "concerns" about the election in Iran. Obama said he has been very consistent about his position. Obama reiterated his message that this is "not an issue about the United States," but the Iranian people.

Iran's tenth presidential election was held on 12 June 2009. Than on June 13th Supporters of pro-reform candidate Mir Hossein Mousavi have cried foul and clashed with riot police in Tehran, despite a ban on public protests. Today ten day later President Barack Obama condemned the violence against protester. He suggested Iran's leaders will face consequences if they continue. What consequences?

President Obama was not talking about consequences from the United States but from the Iranian people. He told Major Garrett this is "not an issue about the United States," but the Iranian people. The President is still keeping open the option of pursuing diplomatic engagement with Iran's leaders over its suspected nuclear weapons program.

So was obama giving this speech because of being accused by some Republicans of being too timid in his response to events in Iran, yes.

This is not the first time President Obama was late with a response.
On Monday, 8/11/08 Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama put out a statement condemning Russia for their escalation of the conflict with Georgia. “No matter how this conflict started, Russia has escalated it well beyond the dispute over South Ossetia and invaded another country. Russia has escalated its military campaign through strategic bombing and the movement of its ground forces into the heart of Georgia. There is no possible justification for these attacks,” Obama said.

On August 8, 2008 Russia sent tanks and warplanes into the former Soviet republic of Georgia on Friday after Georgia launched a military offensive to retake its breakaway province, South Ossetia. On this conflect Obama waited three days.

I will leave you with a few of Barack Obama words from his speech in Berlin Germany.
I come to Berlin as so many of my countrymen have come before. Tonight, I speak to you...a fellow citizen of the world.

People of Berlin and people of the world the scale of our challenge is great. The road ahead will be long. But I come before you to say that we are heirs to a struggle for freedom. We are a people of improbable hope. Let us build on our common history, and seize our common destiny, and once again engage in that noble struggle to bring justice and peace to our world.

PETA Angry at President Obama Executing a fly

PETA Says No More Fly-Killing, Sends Obama a Humane Fly Catcher - Political Punch

After the President very publically swatted and then killed a fly during an interview with CNBC yesterday, the outspoken animal rights group PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) said they wished Obama had served a better example.
“We support compassion for the even the smallest animals," says Bruce Friedrich, VP for Policy at PETA. “We support giving insects the benefit of the doubt."
Friedrich says PETA supports "brushing flies away rather than killing them" and was disappointed that the President had gone ahead and squashed the pesky fly.

Policy at PETA. “We support giving insects the benefit of the doubt."

This afternoon PETA sent a Katcha Bug, a device which traps bugs and allows their safe release back into nature to the White House.

Are you the kind of person who wouldn't hurt a fly? Is your motto "live
and let live," even when it comes to tiny, six-legged, uninvited house
guests?
Then the Katcha Bug Humane Bug Catcher is for you! Simply place
Katcha Bug over the bug and slowly slide its plastic trapdoor shut. The
bug will step onto the trapdoor as it closes, and you can carry Katcha
Bug outside, where all you need to do is slide the trap door open,
allowing the bug to walk away. You'll have no problem catching even
large spiders with this handy gadget. Katcha Bug measures 9 inches in
length, so you won't have to get too close for comfort.

Item Number: HP220

Price: $8.00

Using this product is like trying to put a plastic cup over a fly. I have a hard time killing one with a fly swater. I can see my mother running around the house trying to catch a fly. I believe most people will get tired and use the fly swater.

Polls Show Public Wary of Deficit and Obama's Economic Intervention

Public Wary of Deficit, Economic Intervention - WSJ.com

WASHINGTON -- After a fairly smooth opening, President Barack Obama faces new concerns among the American public about the budget deficit and government intervention in the economy as he works to enact ambitious health and energy legislation, a new Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll finds.
These rising doubts threaten to overshadow the president's personal popularity and his agenda, in what may be a new phase of the Obama presidency.
"The public is really moving from evaluating him as a charismatic and charming leader to his specific handling of the challenges facing the country," says Peter D. Hart, a Democratic pollster who conducts the survey with Republican Bill McInturff. Going forward, he says, Mr. Obama and his allies "are going to have to navigate in pretty choppy waters."

President Barack Obama spending the peoples money.

In an interview with The Wall Street Journal, President Obama acknowledged the toll.
"If you have an argument made frequently enough -- whether it's true or not -- it has some impact," he said Tuesday. "If you want to attack a Democratic president, how are you going to attack him? Well, you're going to talk about how he wants more government and he wants to socialize medicine and he's going to be oppressive towards business. I mean, that's pretty standard fare."I guess the real question is if this is true or not.

President will propose strict new regulation of financial industry. Under the plan the government would have new powers to seize key companies -- such as insurance giant American International Group Inc. -- whose failure jeopardizes the financial system. Currently, the government's authority to seize
companies is mostly limited to banks.

The president said he and supporters of reform have momentum over the "opposition that has used fear tactics to paint any effort to achieve reform as an attempt to socialize medicine." "They’ll give dire warnings about socialized medicine and government takeovers. But the president said the status quo is "unsustainable" for patients, the economy and doctors.

"Make no mistake: the cost of our health care is a threat to our economy," Obama said. "It is an escalating burden on our families and businesses. It is a ticking time-bomb for the federal budget. And it is unsustainable for the United States of America."

So the Government will take it over, so now it's government socialize medicine.

Last, Mr. Obama is proposing to raise taxes on capital gains and dividends by a staggering two-thirds, moving the rate up 10 percentage points to 25%, which could curtail investment and business on Wall Street, a backbone of the city's and state's economy.

Everyone in Britain wishes President Barack Obama well, for our sake as well as America's. Yet Obama's first moves in office do not fill me with confidence. His early weeks remind me of the atmosphere in Britain when New Labour took power. The party inherited a strong economy. But now, after more than a decade of New Labour's being in power, the British economy is in ruins. The chief problem facing British businesses is the maze of oppressive government regulation New Labour has signed into law.

In the meantime, Britain must suffer. My advice to President Obama: Look at what New Labour has done to Britain--and avoid this course at all costs!
