Speaker Nancy Pelosi (Calif.) and her leadership team, emerging from a nearly two-hour
meeting with the Democratic caucus, offered a plan that marks policy reversal for Democrats. It would allow more offshore drilling in exchange for additional funding for renewable resources.

The most controversial provision, which drew fire from conservatives and liberals alike, would permit drilling 100 miles off the Atlantic coasts from Virginia to Georgia, and in the Gulf of Mexico off Florida's western coast.

The limit could be reduced to 50 miles if each state's governor and legislature endorsed the move, said Democratic aides and environmental activists briefed on the plan.

Now Nancy Pelosi and her leadership team, the Democrat caucus came up with their Energy plan. Hay Nancy, was there any Republicans on your leadership plan? Why did you meet with just the Democrat caucus? Now it will come up for a vote by the end of the week and your going to want Republicans to vote for it. Nancy where is the bipartisan congress that you promised when you took office?

Many of the items on her legislative wish list failed earlier this summer because Democrats brought the measures to the floor under rules reserved for noncontroversial legislation. Those rules block the minority from offering alternatives but also require a higher threshold for passage.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, applauded the bipartisan "Gang of 10" for offering a compromise package in the Senate that would allow Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia to opt out of a federal ban on offshore oil and gas drilling, calling it a "step in the right direction." Oh I see Republicans must compromise and Democrats don't.

Let's look at Speaker Nancy Pelosi plan. We would permit drilling 100 miles off the Atlantic coasts from Virginia to Georgia. This is just four states. What about the west coast? How about Alaska? And we can drill only in the Gulf of Mexico off Florida's western coast. What about the east coast of Florida?

Oil companies can only drill 100 miles out. If you would drill 100 miles south of Florida, we would be drilling in Cuba! The limit could be reduced to 50 miles, if each state's governor and legislature endorsed the move. This is Federal waters, why should the states have a voice in this? The states are not going to get a dime from this oil money. Just ask Louisiana.

Coastal states are also entitled to a share of revenues from offshore tracts. While the first three miles off Louisiana's coast belong to the state, the area beyond the three-mile zone is considered federal property. The zone between three and six miles is known as the 8(g) zone, as designated by the 1953 federal Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act.

•Louisiana has had offshore drilling since 1947. About 172 active rigs dot the Gulf of Mexico waters off the coast, producing about 79% of the oil and 72% of the natural gas that comes from drilling off the nation's coastlines.

Barack Obama calls Sarah Palin a Pig with Lipstick

"You know, you can put lipstick on a pig," Obama said, "but it's still a pig."

The crowd rose and applauded, some of them no doubt thinking he may have been alluding to Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's ad lib during her vice presidential nomination acceptance speech last week, "What's the difference between a hockey mom and a pit bull? Lipstick."

Barack Obama's key paraphrase: "We're going to have a campaign free of the usual manipulations and distortions, we're going to run a campaign we can be proud of."

How low do you have to stoop, to call Sarah Palin a pig. At the Republican National convention Palin called herself a pit bull with lipstick. Now Obama is calling her a pig with lipstick and said even though that pig has lipstick on, it's still a pig.

UPDATE: Obama senior adviser Robert Gibbs insists the senator was not referring to Palin. "That's an old expression," Gibbs says. NO! The old saying goes something like this, "That you can take a pig out of the pig pen. clean her up, but she is still a pig." When Barack Obama put the added lipstick on the pig, he was referring to Sarah Palin.

"What's the difference between a hockey mom and a pit bull? Lipstick." Looks like Obama was not only calling Sarah Palin a pig but he was calling all of the hockey moms in this great country pigs.

Virginia Senator George Allen introduced us to "Macaca". Most of the American public didn't even know what this word meant, until the news media took it and ran with it. Even though he apologized, the news media ran it into the dirt. Because Allen called someone a name, he lost the election.

What do you think the news media is going to do with this? I can tell you, nothing. You see the news media is in bed with Barack Obama. They will protect Obama so he will not lose this election.

Barack Obama wants Fannie and Freddie Shareholders to Take Hit

The Bush administration yesterday prepared to take over the troubled housing finance companies Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, after concluding the companies don't have enough capital to continue to play their crucial role funding home mortgages.


Under the plan, engineered by Treasury Secretary Henry M. Paulson Jr., the government would place the two companies under "conservatorship," a legal status akin to Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Their boards and chief executives would be fired and a government agency, the Federal Housing Finance Agency, would appoint new chief executives.

Obama agreed that action was needed. "Intervention was necessary, but at a campaign stop he said he was withholding judgment until he could see details. "We have to protect taxpayers and not bail out the shareholders and management," Obama said. Do you understand what he said? Withholding judgement untill he could see the polls?

Obama said that we must protect taxpayers. How does the government protect taxpayers? Barack is this the rich taxpayers that needs to be protected or the poor taxpayers that you want to protect? Let's put it another way, do you want to protect people who pay taxes or businesses? The evil oil companies and the tobacco companies pay plenty of taxes. Barack, are these the taxpayer that need to be protected? Over the past 25 years,. oil companies directly paid or remitted more than $2.2 trillion in taxes. Tobacco companies directly paid $5.878 billion a year in taxes. I think Barack meant poor tax payers.

Obama said we must no bail out the shareholders and management. Plus with the U.S. Treasury backing the companies $1.6 trillion debt will leave shareholders shares nearly valueless. So Barack, no one is helping the rich by taking money from the poor.

So Barack Obama believes that we should not take money from taxpayer to bail out rich shareholders and high paid management. But he is willing to take more money from taxpayers, you and me, to pay for his new programs. Remember the Democrats believes in Pay as you Go. So with a Democrat in the White House and a Democratic House and Senate, they will be picking our pockets.

Oprah, Sarah Palin can be on Show After Election, Clarence Thomas Never.

Winfrey used her show to introduce Barack Obama to America's women voters, and has endorsed and campaigned with the Democratic nominee. She also was very visible at Obama's acceptance speech last week in Denver.

"Half of her staff really wants Sarah Palin on," a source told Drudge. "Oprah's Web site is getting tons of requests to put her on, but Oprah and a couple of her top people are adamantly against it because of Obama."

Oprah last year blocked an appearance by Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, timed to a promotional tour of his autobiography.

Oprah Winfrey denies the Drudge Report that she doesn't want Palin on her Oprah Show. "She can come on my show but after the election." Why, because she is backing Barack Obama, not only with her support but with her show. Oprah knows that millions of women across this great country watch her show and she does not want them to know any thing about Sarah Palin. Why, because she is a woman? No, because she is a very conservative woman and maybe the first woman to be vice president of the great country.

That ought to be one of the main reason she should be on the Oprah Show. She might be the first woman Vice President in American history. After the election, if she loses, she'll be just Govenor of Alaska which she has been for two years. When Barack Obama story was hot, Oprah put him on her show. Now that Sarah Palin is hot, Oprah wants her to cool off a little bit.

Is Oprah bias? Oh Yes! A racist no, but bias, Yes! When justice Clarence Thomas asked to go on the Oprah Show, to promote his book, she said no. Why isn't Oprah Winfrey proud of Thomas as she is of Obama? Because he is conservative and she considers him an Uncle Tom just like Obama. In fact Barack Obama said he is the lest qualified for the bench. I think Obama is the lest qualified for the White House. So to get on the Oprah Show you must believe, think and talk like her.

Looks like Oprah believe in something like the Jim Crow laws. Mandated segregation on the Oprah Show separate liberals from conservatives, "separate but equal." Let them go on their own shows. If you believe this is not true why hasn't Condeleeza Rice, the first black women to become Secretary of State, been invited on the Oprah Show?

candidates. I agree that Sarah Palin would be a fantastic interview,

Okay Oprah now you must show your hand. Will you let Sarah Palin, Clarence Thomas or Condelezza Rice on your show before the November election. American is waiting.
