Israel First to Test Barack Obama on Hamas Conflict

Obama Defers to Bush, for Now, on Gaza Crisis - NYTimes.com

WASHINGTON — When President-elect Barack Obama went to Israel in July — to the very town, in fact, whose repeated shelling culminated in this weekend’s new fighting in Gaza — he all but endorsed the punishing Israeli attacks now unfolding.

“If somebody was sending rockets into my house, where my two daughters sleep at night, I’m going to do everything in my power to stop that,” he told reporters in Sderot, a small city on the edge of Gaza that has been hit repeatedly by rocket fire. “And I would expect Israelis to do the same thing.”

President elected Barack Obama.

Where is Barack Obama ? I know he is on vacation in Honolulu and trying to keep a low profile but he remains involved in transition plans and has received intelligence briefings. So Barack Obama knows what is going on and is watching for afar. In four days he has said nothing.

Now when I commented on this in a post, I got the liberal reply.

waggdogg,

Obama is not yet President -- George Bush is the current President It is not President elect Obama's time to make Presidential statements.Use your brain. BTW, George B. is on vacation as well, and not doing much else.

But Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama put out a statement condemning Russia for their escalation of the conflict with Georgia. And he was not even elected President yet.
Remember what Joe Biden said?
"It will not be six months before the world tests Barack Obama like
they did John Kennedy. The world is looking. We're about to elect a
brilliant 47-year-old senator president of the United States of
America. Remember I said it standing here if you don't remember
anything else I said. Watch, we're gonna have an international crisis,
a generated crisis, to test the mettle of this guy."

Joe was right, it looks like Israel will be the first to test President-elect Barack Obama. Remember the world is looking and see a bare chested man walking from the gym.Celebrity website Celebuzz claimed Obama was "the hottest president ever" while the Sun said "His buff chest and toned tum belie his 47 years and show he's got more in common with George Clooney than George Bush."

Please Barack, you don't have to act like neither of the Georges but you must act. Americans and the World wants to know how you are going to handle this.

Will Hillary be Obama's Scape Goat on Iraq?

Clinton Moves to Widen Role of State Dept. - NYTimes.com

WASHINGTON — Even before taking office, Hillary Rodham Clinton
is seeking to build a more powerful State Department, with a bigger
budget, high-profile special envoys to trouble spots and an expanded
role in dealing with global economic issues at a time of crisis.

Mrs. Clinton is recruiting Jacob J. Lew, the budget director under President Bill Clinton, as one of two deputies, according to people close to the Obama transition team. Mr. Lew’s focus, they said, will be on increasing the share of financing that goes to the diplomatic corps. He and James B. Steinberg, a deputy national security adviser in the Clinton administration, are to be Mrs. Clinton’s chief lieutenants.

Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton.

Before we start let's finds out the duties and responsibilities of the Secretary of State. The Secretary of State, is the President's principal foreign policy advisor, though other officials or individuals may have more influence on their foreign policy decisions. The Department advances U.S. objectives and interests in the world through its primary role in developing and implementing the President's foreign policy.

The Department also supports the foreign affairs activities of other U.S. Government entities including the United States Department of Commerce and the U.S. Agency for International Development. It also provides an array of important services to U.S. citizens and to foreigners seeking to visit or immigrate to the U.S.

Why do you think Barack Obama selected Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State. So she will be so busy that she can't run against him in 2012? Or will Obama use Hillary as a scape goat for not ending the Iraq occupation?

As he moves closer to the White House, President-elect Obama is making clearer than ever that tens of thousands of American troops will be left behind in Iraq, even if he can make good on his campaign promise to pull all combat forces out within 16 months.

That status-of-forces agreement remains subject to change, by mutual agreement, and Army planners acknowledge privately that they are examining projections that could see the number of Americans hovering between 30,000 and 50,000 — and some say as high as 70,000 — for a substantial time even beyond 2011. At the end of the Bush Administration there will be a 140,000 troop level.

Now the far left will be upset. Here is a blog entry in Democrats.com unity. "President-Elect Barack Obama pledged to end the occupation of Iraq during his campaign and this should be his number one priority. The occupation of Iraq has cost the US economy hundreds of billions of dollars, lasted longer then World War II, and displaced millions of Iraqis from their homes, while destabilizing the entire region."

So now it looks like Barack will put the whole Iraq war in Hillary lap.
At the beginning of her campaign Hillary refused to commit to draw U.S. troops out of Iraq. Then she jump on the Obama band wagon.
In her speech, she unequivocally proclaimed, "The most important part of my plan is the first step: to end our military engagement in Iraq's civil war and immediately start bringing our troops home as quickly and carefully as possible.
Now President-elect Obama can say, "You see not only I but also Hillary Clinton wanted to with draw all of our troops out of Iraq. But Hillary and I have found out that President George Bush did such a lousy job in Iraq that we will have to stay there longer.'
Just wait and see.

Barack Obama Clears Himself and His Staff of Wrong Doing with Blagojevich.

ABC News: Rahm Emanuel Discussed Obama Shortlist With Blagojevich Staff

Incoming White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel had a series of
conversations with Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich and his top aide about possible replacements for President-elect Barack Obama in the Senate -- but he never discussed any possible deals with them, according to a report prepared by the Obama transition office  and released today.

While clearing Emanuel and all other Obama aides of wrongdoing, the report also discloses  that Obama, Emanuel and the president-elect's friend and adviser Valerie Jarrett were interviewed by the U.S. Attorney's office last week, though it gives no details of those conversations.

Emanuel and Blagojevich very Good Friends.

Emanuel never discussed any possible deals and the Obama report, prepared by Barack Obama, clearing Emanuel and all other Obama aides of wrongdoing. So Obama cleared all his friends. Is this like George W Bush clearing his Vice President and all of his cabinet of any wrong doing in the starting of the Iraq war?

George Stephanopoulos reported that Emanuel is a close ally of Obama's and a veteran of the Clinton White House. Obama likes the fact that Emanuel knows policy, knows politics, knows Capitol Hill. He has told associates that he knows that Emanuel will "have his back." So did Barack Obama send Emanuel to talk to Blagojevich?

What does it mean to be the White House Chief of Staff? The duties of the White House Chief of Staff vary greatly from one administration to another. However, the chief of staff has been responsible for overseeing the actions of the White House staff, managing the president's schedule, and deciding who is allowed to meet with the president. Because of these duties, the Chief of Staff has at various times been dubbed "The Gatekeeper" and "The Co-President". So Rahm Emanuel is the gatekeeper between Obama and Blagojevich and the Co-President?

Mr Obama said that he had made no personal contact with Mr Blagojevich’s office and that he was gathering details of any contact between the transition staff and the governor’s administration. No personal contact, of course not, Blagojevich had to go through the gatekeeper. Obama gathering details? No, he already had them.
We want the change, that Barack Obama promised when he was running for President. We want to know why Obama, Emanuel and the president-elect's friend and adviser Valerie Jarrett were interviewed by the U.S. Attorney's office last week. I guess to talk about the weather.

Looks like the new President is starting off on the wrong foot.

Cheney, is Bin Laden Alive? Barack Obama knows!

Cheney not sure if Bin Laden still alive - Yahoo! News

WASHINGTON (AFP) – US Vice President Dick Cheney said in an interview Sunday that he did not know if the Al-Qaeda terror leader Osama bin Laden was still alive.
Asked if the elusive bin Laden was alive, Cheney said: "I don't know and I'm guessing he is."
"We've had certain pieces of evidence become available from time to time, there'll be a photograph released or something that allows the intelligence community to judge that he is still alive," Cheney told Fox News on Sunday.

Osama bin Laden Wanted Dead or Alive.

Let's first talk about what President elect Barack Obama wants to do. President-elect Barack Obama intends to renew the U.S. commitment to the hunt for Osama bin Laden, a priority the president-elect believes President Bush has played down after years of failing to apprehend the al-Qaeda leader. Critical of Bush during the campaign for what he said was the president's extreme focus on Iraq at the expense of Afghanistan, Obama also intends to move ahead with a planned deployment of thousands of additional U.S. troops there.

Barack Obama said that President Bush has down played, after eight years, his failing to apprehend Bin Laden. And that he can do a better job despite a massive manhunt and a 25-million-dollar bounty on his head. So Obama wants to send more US troops. US troop numbers in Afghanistan could double by next summer to 60,000.

The incoming Obama administration plans to explore a more regional strategy to the war in Afghanistan -- including possible talks with Iran -- and looks favorably on the nascent dialogue between the Afghan government and "reconcilable" elements of the Taliban, according to Obama national security advisers.

And Barack Obama is doing this when he has yet to fully examine available military and intelligence resources and how they are currently being used, and have not yet plotted his diplomatic approach to Pakistan, where U.S. intelligence officials believe bin Laden is hiding.

So this is one promise that looks like Barack Obama will keep. Obama said during the campaign that his administration would explore talks with countries such as Iran and Syria, rejecting bedrock Bush policy. Now that Barack Obama is my President, I hope his head is not in the sand.

Mr Obama no Personal Contact with Mr Blagojevich Just Sent Rahm Emanuel

Emanuel, Blagojevich Aides Discussed Senate Seat - WSJ.com

Barack Obama had begun thinking about his Senate successor even before the presidential election, and dispatched Rahm Emanuel to contact aides of Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich to begin talking up Mr. Obama's preferred candidates, associates of Mr. Emanuel said this weekend.

Mr. Emanuel, a congressman from Chicago, had been approached about being Mr. Obama's White House chief of staff the week before the election, though he hadn't yet officially decided to take the post. Nonetheless, the issue of Mr. Obama's Senate replacement was sensitive enough that senior Obama aides wanted to keep the matter within the circle of Illinois political figures, according to people familiar with campaign deliberations at the time.

Gov. Rod Blagojevich just a big boy.

Now we know that Barack Obama had Rahm Emanuel, his White House chief of staff to contact aides of Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich. Now why would Mr Emanuel contact the aids of Gov Blagojevich and not the Governor himself? Emanuel knows the Governor personally.

It,the idea of reimporting drugs from Canada, was the sort of populist issue at which Mr. Emanuel excels, and he urged Mr. Blagojevich to take it on. The two wrote joint letters in 2004 and held news conferences on the subject, garnering attention for
both of them. Do you think Mr Emanuel spoke to Gov. Blagojevich on this one?

So we are to believe that Gov. Blagojevich instructed his aides to ask Mr. Emanuel to ask Barack Obama for a kick back for nominating one of Obama's preferred candidates? And Mr. Emanuel said no without asking Barack Obama. Do you believe this? Among those in Mr. Obama's inner circle, Mr. Emanuel had one of the closest relationships to Mr. Blagojevich but just spoke to his aides.

Mr Obama said that he had made no personal contact with Mr Blagojevich’s office and that he was gathering details of any contact between the transition staff and the governor’s administration. If you send someone on your behalf to represent you is in not a personal contact on your behalf? I guess it all depends what is,is.

Now Barack Obama said that he was gathering details of any contact between the transition staff and the governor’s administration. Is he personally gathering this information or is an aide doing it? So if an aide is gathering this information, he is doing it. But when Mr Emanuel is doing it on Obama behalf, Barack not doing it.

There is more and more to come out. President-elect Obama you pick poor friends.
